A dryer that takes three cycles is usually an airflow problem, not a dead machine. We check the machine and the duct run to the outside wall, because fixing one without the other wastes your money. Flat price before the work, 90 days on parts and labor.
Common faults
Eight faults cover almost every dryer call we take in Katy. Several are airflow, which is why we always look at the duct as well as the drum.
Air is not moving through. Nine times out of ten the duct is restricted somewhere between the machine and the wall.
Lint has built up past the trap. This is also the fault that quietly doubles your electric bill.
A heating fault. On electric models it is usually a part we carry, so it closes on the first visit.
The vent is blocked and the heat has nowhere to go. Worth treating as urgent, this is the fire risk case.
Belt or motor. We can tell which within a few minutes of opening it.
Rollers or the belt tensioner. Cheap to fix, annoying to live with.
It is overheating and cutting out to protect itself. Do not keep restarting it.
Unplug it, leave it off and call. We will come out the same day where we can.
If the drum turns and there is simply no heat, say so when you call, that part is usually on the van. (111) 111-1111.
The vent is the part most people never touch, and it causes most of the trouble.
Brands
Built-in and panel-ready units are booked separately, those take longer to open up and we need the model number up front. Everything else we carry parts for or get from Houston suppliers the next working day.
